6th Place, M1 Season 1. 12th Place, Marble League 2020.
The ML2019 runner-ups still have much to prove to the veteran teams, having followed their debut Marble League with a medalless 2020 showing. Often forgotten, though, is that their performance in Marbula One was top tier. Combining both speed and intuition for the racing line, the two Green Ducks racers each had good shots for gold in one GP – and Billy converted. Their big weak spots are navigating narrow stretches of track and improving their defense if challenged from behind.
Team Captain. 8th place, M1 Season 1 Racer Championship. 1 M1 Silver.
The Green Ducks’ captain struggles sometimes for consistency in the Marble League, but in Marbula One they ended the season as a solid top ten racer. Less flashy but more tactical than their partner, Mallard kept pace in every race through handling chicanes particularly well, knowing when to weave at the right moment to pass a racer ahead. A gold was in striking distance in the Momotorway if not for an unfortunate conveyor belt entry mishap. The more courses return from Season One, the more competitors should fear Mallard knows the keys to the race better than them.
14th place, M1 Season 1 Racer Championship. 1 M1 Gold.
Quietly leading their team to the top in 2019’s track events, Billy showed their need for speed very early. They handled the sand hills down the O’raceway with ease, pulling away with the lead just three laps into the race. But the dominance in that GP may have gotten to this racer’s head: past that point they were more reckless than brilliant, always finding a way to veer off to the side and lose positions gains that took time to build. With greater discipline combined with their natural quickness, Billy can head into Season 2 and get their team the tournament Championships they’ve thirsted for.
