FAQ'S

JELLE's COLLECTOR SET FAQ's

We have created this page to help answer questions that we have received about the Jelle's Collector set including helping you identify the marbles.

1.) QUESTION: I need help identifying some of the marbles.

ANSWER: Here is a picture in natural light and studio light of the Jelle's Marbles that corresponds with the insert we included.  The insert is also below this picture for reference.  We have also published a 4 minute video showing each marble.

Here's a video showing each marble:

2.) QUESTION: Why do some of the marbles look different than I was expecting?

No 2 marbles are exactly the same and while we try to color match/design match as closely as possible, it isn't always the same OR there is a difference between what a picture looks like and the marble (this is a major challenge we have).

Red & Pink - These 2 colors are by far the hardest for us to source because it often requires lead to get those right.  We have produced all our products to be kid friendly which impacted Raspberry Racers & Hazers the most and slightly impacted a few others including Rojo Rollers.

Variations & New Members - All of our teams have variations.  Now that we have finally mass produced marbles, you will see these new marbles get introduced as members of the teams.

Here is a picture showing Jelle's Marbles in 2 different lighting environments.  The marbles on the left were taken from Jelle's collection in the Netherlands and the marbles on the right are the marbles that were manufactured for this set:

3.) QUESTION: Which one are the Pinkies?

ANSWER: The Pinkies marble is a "Pink Pearl" Marble that as a very subtle shade of pink.  This marble is sometimes confused with the Snowballs, but the Pinkies marble is much shinier.  When you see them altogether like this, you can see the shade of pink more clearly.

Additional Detail: Pink is very hard to produce in a marble in a safe way without lead.  This is why it's not very prominent and often not seen in marbles that kids can play with.  All of our marbles have been safety tested to conform with CPSC regulations.

4.) QUESTION: Which one are the Raspberry Racers?

ANSWER: Fans of the show know that the Raspberry Racers were originally a gemstone marble that had pink with black swirls.  Over the years as this marble became harder and hard to find, the audience in the stands at Jelle's Marble Runs has a number of different shades of red marbles that have become an extension of the team.  We attempted to reproduce the original gemstone marbles, but the pink would not pass child safety tests for lead so we had to use this marble:

4.) QUESTION: Which one are the Rojo Rollers?

ANSWER: The Rojo Rollers you see on Jelle's videos have a deep orangish/reddish look.  The marble you will find in this set is very similar, but has a slightly lighter shade of orange with a design that is almost identical to the original.  As noted above, Red is another color that is VERY difficult to use in marbles because of high lead content and the marble on the left is the closes we could get to the original.

4.) QUESTION: What's the deal with the Hazers?

ANSWER: As we noted on the listing, the original Hazers used Fiber Optic Glass.  For mass production and child safety testing purposes, we have not yet been able to reproduce the marble using the Fiber Optic Glass.  The marble on the left is the one with fiber optic glass and the one on the right is what we produced for this set:
